    • An introduction to OCT biomarkers in DME

      Monica Lövenstam Adrian, MD, PhD.

      Video (6 min)

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an important imaging modality in the assessment of diabetic macular edema (DME). The identification of possible biomarkers, for example DRIL, Ellipsoid zone disruption, hyper reflective foci, enables a more precise evaluation of retinal pathology. Furthermore, these biomarkers can help in identifying the presence of an inflammatory component that needs to be treated.
